Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what happens to personal data when you visit this website. Status: 29 July 2026.

1. Controller

The controller (Verantwortlicher) within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

2. What this website does not do

This is a purely informational website. It has no contact forms, no comment function, no newsletter, no visitor accounts and no search that stores your input. It uses no web analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no social media plugins.

It also loads no content from third-party servers: no external fonts, no maps, no videos and no embedded widgets. Every element of every page is delivered from our own web server. As a result, this website does not set any cookies when you visit it, and no data about your visit is passed to any third party by the pages themselves.

3. Server log files

Every time a page is retrieved, the web server of our hosting provider automatically records the following, as any web server does:

  • the IP address of the device making the request
  • date and time of the request
  • the page or file requested
  • the browser and operating system used (user agent)
  • the address of the page from which you came, where transmitted (referrer)

Purpose and legal basis. These records are necessary to deliver the website, to keep it stable and to detect and trace attacks on it. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the technically sound and secure operation of this website. We do not merge this data with other sources and we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Storage period. Log files are kept only for as long as the purposes above require. They are overwritten and deleted by our hosting provider on a rolling basis as part of normal log rotation. Records are kept beyond that only where a specific incident, such as an attack on this website, has to be investigated or documented.

An IP address can constitute personal data even where we ourselves cannot identify the person behind it (Court of Justice of the European Union, judgment of 19 October 2016, C-582/14, Breyer). We therefore treat it as such.

4. Hosting and technical administration

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. It is set up and maintained for us by an external IT service provider. Both act on our behalf and on our instructions as processors (Auftragsverarbeiter) within the meaning of Article 28 GDPR.

The servers are located in Germany. Personal data arising from your visit is not transferred to a country outside the European Union.

5. Contacting us by email

Our pages give email addresses rather than a contact form. If you write to us, we process the address you write from and whatever you tell us in order to deal with your message. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries addressed to us, and, where your message concerns membership or an existing relationship with the association, Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

We keep such correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with the matter and to answer follow-up questions, unless a statutory retention obligation requires us to keep it longer. Email reaches us through the mail providers of the board members concerned; it does not pass through this website.

6. Links to other websites

Our pages link to websites operated by others, for example to journals, conference sites and partner organisations. Those links are ordinary links: nothing is loaded from those sites until you click one. Once you do, the privacy policy of the site you reach applies. We have no influence over how those operators process data and accept no responsibility for it.

7. Encrypted transmission

This website is delivered over an encrypted TLS connection (recognisable by https:// and the padlock in your browser). This prevents the pages you retrieve from being read by third parties in transit.

8. Your rights

In respect of the personal data we hold about you, you have the right to:

  • obtain confirmation as to whether we process such data and to access it (Article 15 GDPR)
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16 GDPR)
  • have data erased (Article 17 GDPR)
  • have processing restricted (Article 18 GDPR)
  • receive your data in a portable format (Article 20 GDPR)
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). This applies in particular to the server log files described in section 3

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (datenschutz.hessen.de), because the association has its registered seat in Fulda, Hesse. You may instead approach the supervisory authority of the country or federal state in which you live.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

We update this policy when the website changes or the legal position requires it. The version in force is always the one published here. Status: 29 July 2026.
